Wildlife Management Slide Show created by the USFS in 1938. Transcribed from original program. Fish fry obtained from State and Federal hatcheries are bred in these ponds until they reach a length of from four to six inches. They are then released and planted in streams and lakes. Survival of fry is ever so much greater in ponds than when released in rapid flowing streams. Such ponds are a very material aid to better fishing.
