Title: Elk Winter Range
Description: Wildlife Management Slide Show created by the USFS in 1938. Transcribed from original program. 10..In winter elk migrate from the higher elevations to the lower foothills where snow is less deep, the climate less severe, and where feeding condition are better. Here we see a typical winter elk range. Sagebrush, bitterbrush, aspen twigs and bark, grass, birch twigs, ground juniper, willows and other shrubs compose the greater portion of winter feeds.
