Title: | Beaver on His House |
---|---|
Description: |
Wildlife Management Slide Show created by the USFS in 1938. Transcribed from original program. 24. A typical beaver house made of sticks and mud. A large chamber is gnawed out inside, the entrance to which is under water. In the chamber, each member of the family has his own individual bed of shavings or grass. Where conditions are unfavorable for the construction of such a house as shown here, beavers burrow into the banks of the stream and excavate a den similar to those of other burrowing animals. Such animals are frequently called Bank Beaver, and are erroneously believed to be a separate species. |
