Description: |
Wildlife Management Slide Show created by the USFS in 1938. Transcribed from original program. 19. Grey wolves have been nearly exterminated through the West because of extremely heavy losses inflicted upon the stockmen. These predators prey on all species of big game and are known to kill mature steers with no great difficulty. This is an actual photograph of the famous $10,000 Split Rock wolf, which after inflicting great damage upon the stock interests of Wyoming was finally taken by the Biological Survey in 1920. |
