Image Description from original transcript: Roads and trails are necessary for the protection of the Forest again fire, to enable Forest officers to get about in the performance of their tasks, and to open the Forests for users. Many of the National Forests are easily reached from the great highways of the country. Forest headquarters are generally located in important towns on highways, at which points information may be obtained from the Forest Supervisor stationed there, as to roads and trails through the Forest, forest campgrounds, and other accommodations, as well as points of interest on the Forest.
