“2005 Beretta Road Cleanup”
Transcript

Tim Sheldon (Black Hills 4-Wheelers):
We kind of swing in whenever we get a chance and kind of pick up some of the trash. Personally, I hunt and fish and all that kind of stuff. I come up here and use the area, but I pack out what I pack in. You try and take some of the other stuff too to keep it clean. We like to use the Hills like everybody else and we try to clean up after everybody else (the partiers that are out there) to keep the hills beautiful for the future.

Matt Hennies (Black Hills Jeeps):
I do hate to see this because I take it myself that I was raised a lot better than this. I grew up hunting and fishing with my dad and stuff, but I was always taught to clean up when you’re done and to take out what you bring in with you. We need to take care of stuff. Whether it is our mess or not, we need to come help Mother Nature out and let it rejuvenate.

Jeff Kearney (Off-Road Riders Association):
I think this is an awesome show up. There’s got to be close to 100 people here. Looking around, there’s a lot of jeeps and there’s a lot of ATVs. I think we have a very good showing from the off-road group. But if this is what it takes to keep everything open, we’ll do our part.

Les Gonyer (U.S. Forest Service, Hydrologist):
Oh it makes us feel fantastic! We have an overwhelming job just trying to manage the National Forest, and when you have areas like this that are in dire need of cleanup…having this group out here, it cleans up real quickly.
