Future firefighters went through an intensive Interagency Basic Firefighter training to prepare for the upcoming summer. Instructors from the Black Hills National Forest lead the interagency week long training that was hosted by the Boxelder Job Corps Center, located near Nemo, South Dakota. Thirty-two personnel completed the training which included a simulated fire scenario and multiple stations that provided hands on training using fire hoses, hand tools, drip torches, engine operations, fire shelter deployment and radios. |
