15. Moose occur on the Washakie and Shoshone Forests of this region. Water lilies and other aquatic vegetation comprise its principal summer food. Moose frequently are seen feeding in water nearly submerged while collecting roots and stems of water plants. In winter stems and buds of willow, birch, and other shrubs comprise its food.
