Image Description from original transcript: Every Forest Region Offers Scenes of Interest and Beauty.Northern Forest Region Region 2 - ..A breath-taking climb and a breath-taking view of the Snowmass Peak and Lake, Holy Cross National Forest, Colorado....The cluster of National Forests in the Rocky Mountain Region, the Switzerland of America, is on the Continental Divide in Wyoming and Colorado, and includes also National Forest offshoots in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Oklahoma. There are 19 national Forests in Region 2, 12 of which are in Colorado, four in Wyoming, two in South Dakota, and one each in Nebraska and Oklahoma, with a total area of more than 19.000,000 million acres. The Regional Forester has his headquarters at Denver, Colorado...Colorado ranks high among the States of the co9untry in the quantity and value of National Forest timber sold. It is also the highest State in the Union, and within its borders rise the four great rivers the Colorado, Rio Grande, Platte, and Arkansas, whose headwaters need the protection of forest cover. Then, too, the forest ranges of Colorado are used by more livestock than those of any other State in the Union, except Idaho. From almost any summit in the Rocky Mountain Region an awe-inspiring skyline or a spreading mesa is revealed, varied by streams and canyons and myriad lakes. In the Cochetopa Forest alone, there are 20 peaks above 13,000 feet high, 3 higher than Pikes Peak which also is in this Region on the Pike National Forest...
